Well worth a watch that mate - dont have a pressure cooker - but would love to know the ingredients to the packet - there looked to some whole stuff in there

Doubt anybody can replicate spice mixes like this, with just an ingredients list,
but here you go :-

Cheers chewy brought some of that powder yesterday will be giving it ago tonight with the left overs from yesterdays curry cooking
By the way on the packet I brought where it says premium quality there is a 2010 superior taste award
just thought I'd share that

On the Kashmiri Mirch theme, i was in my local garden centre and came across their spice shelves on there was a wee packet of Kashmiri Chillis ground rom Seasoned Pioneers, i bought some and when i cooked a curry with it it was mighty hot, in fact hotter than any other chilli powder i have used, is it meant to be mega hot as the MDH advert seems to suggest its a milder heat??

I've never thought MDH Kashmiri Mirch or Deggi Mirch were "MILD" chilli powders.
They just represent Chilli with flavour and colour to me and add extra quality to my recipes
which I don't get from generic chilli powders.
Not sure where they come on the Scoville scale, but I would say more of a medium, than mild.

made that rice last night and it was so simple and very tasty .
I would urge Members to give it a try 

Went to my local cash and carry today and the Fudco Kashmiri Chili stated mild on the packet. I think I will hold out for the MDH brand as Chewy pointed out Fudco Kashmiri hasn't had a good review in the past.
Luckily enough I picked up The Shan biriani mix and spotted a few nice pans also.

There is so much on offer in this place I often forget what I went there for, long overdue I started to write a list.
The first time in my life I've actually brought a packet of MSG.
What a transformation, only a few months ago all I really cooked was Chilly con carne and chips and beans etc.
When I made  a curry I only used a jar of Pataks paste, I'm so pleased not to be tied to these anymore.

Cheers Chewy, the chilli i bought certainly does impart a different taste and a vibrant colour to my dishes, in fact so much that i will just be using Kashmiri chilli from now on.

I made six cups of rice, as we had friends round on Saturday night, so I used one onion, one bulb of garlic and one packet of mix.

Very, very nice indeed.
