CT's Chiken Madras
« on: July 09, 2012, 11:47 AM »
I must say that this is a great quick and easy curry to do! I did it again the other night and held it on high heat with the g and g, tom puree and spices in for a little longer than usual as an experiment and it got lovely and dark and quite stickyish. I was panicking a bit but with plenty of oil and the g and g pureed in oil with a bit of water i thought it would be safe. Anyhow it turned out great even with normal chilli powder (Kashmiri Mirch on its way). Thank CT another winner in my household!! Probably need a little more base?!? Can't wait for the Kashmiri powder to come and try that!
 :) :P

Happy days.

Hi chewy Brighton Grove had MDH deggri mirch in yesterday. no kashmirri mirch (are these the same ?)
Bottom shelf left hand corner. Next to the MDH Kichen King.
Hope this helps.
Lovely stuff.

Thanks DH
I'll have a dodge down Elswick later on in the week.

Deggie Mirch is not quite the same to me, its more like a chilli with a smokey Paprika mixed in
and not as vibrant a red colour.

Just my quirk, which I have a few... LoL. ;D

Which my latest is PRIYA Ginger Pickle, amazing curries with just a touch of this stuff. ;)
cheers Chewy

Fine looking madras the EC.  That kashmiri chilli powder will give it an even better colour and add another layer of flavour :D

Well look what arrived yesterday!! The Kasmiri powder 85p per pack. So a try out was inevitable and i must say thet there is quite a difference, more intense and smokey, kind of paprikaish and red! V V nice
