Well I see what you are referring to and have tasted them. Texture wise they are as you say, but given the heat that comes from them, surely they have to be seed, albeit chopped or blended. It's very hard to tell, they are tiny.
Hi FrankVery odd, I've just washed 1 tsp of Mr.Naga.Probably right about a Phoran being used, couldn't see any cumin but plenty of Methi seeds2 small Fennel, 3 Brown Mustard, No Onion seed.Loads of plants and veg grown in Bangladesh, that we know nothing about, a bit like a needle in a haystack.

Frank, looking through Google and slogging through some official documentation, I wonder if they might be a variety of Flax Seed? It's certainly the closest thing I could find.
Indians make chutneys and add flax seeds to Indian breads like chapatis and parathas.
