Just a thought/question, in view of the fact that the dish looks so appealing : have you ever tried making it using raw or normal pre-cooked chicken rather than chicken tikka ? In general, I prefer my curries based on non-tikka chicken, so would be interested to learn how this one might work out.

Funny this, Natterjak has just tried it Phil, and enjoyed the results. I'll give it a go soon.
Hey CH mate - its flipping marvelous - i'm going to have it again tomorrow!
I made one change - well addition - i included a tsp of garam masala . Its a winner this mate i love it.
I'm 100 percent sure this wasn't on the menu when i was cooking back in the UK. Anyway who bloody cares.
I hope it's as good second time around Rich. Not sure how long the dish has been around nor how wide spread it is. But where jb and i live two of the local TA's/ BIR's have it on the menu. I am thankful to the manager of my local BIR for recommending that I try it, having instructed the chef to ramp up the heat somewhat ;D After 25+ years of eating phall it makes a pleasant change and has in fact changed my eating habits considerably. I now enjoy madras

;D . By the way, your chasni is on my radar

One thing though, if you go into NIS production, the only royalties i want is some reference to the originator

If you have anymore like this one i will be getting more rotund! or in simple English a fat basket - i change that just in case someone may take a offence or a gate.
Hope many more try this
best, Rich
Ha Ha Ha, I think i'm joining the "rotund" club myself

I've nothing in the pipeline now since H4ppy Chris has laid the foundations for the South Indian Garlic Chicken which is absolutely delicious. May do some more work on this one though. I've cracked the dry saag bhaji and mushroom bhaji, so not quite sure what my plans are yet for 2013
