Hey CH mate - its flipping marvelous - i'm going to have it again tomorrow!

I made one change - well addition - i included a tsp of garam masala . Its a winner this mate i love it.

I'm 100 percent sure this wasn't on the menu when i was cooking back in the UK. Anyway who bloody cares.

If you have anymore like this one i will be getting more rotund! or in simple English a fat basket - i change that just in case someone may take a offence or a gate.

Hope many more try this

best, Rich

That picture is just oozing flavour and heat  :P :P  Glad you liked it Rich - one of my few successes and better efforts of 2012  ;).  Thanks for giving it a go mate and reporting back.

Just a thought/question, in view of the fact that the dish looks so appealing : have you ever tried making it using raw or normal pre-cooked chicken rather than chicken tikka ?  In general, I prefer my curries based on non-tikka chicken, so would be interested to learn how this one might work out.

** Phil.

Funny this, Natterjak has just tried it Phil, and enjoyed the results.  I'll give it a go soon.

I hope it's as good second time around Rich.  Not sure how long the dish has been around nor how wide spread it is.  But where jb and i live two of the local TA's/ BIR's have it on the menu.  I am thankful to the manager of my local BIR for recommending that I try it, having instructed the chef to ramp up the heat somewhat ;D  After 25+ years of eating phall it makes a pleasant change and has in fact changed my eating habits considerably.  I now enjoy madras  :o :o ;D .  By the way, your chasni is on my radar  ;)
One thing though, if you go into NIS production, the only royalties i want is some reference to the originator :D :D

Ha Ha Ha, I think i'm joining the "rotund" club myself :( I've nothing in the pipeline now since H4ppy Chris has laid the foundations for the South Indian Garlic Chicken which is absolutely delicious.  May do some more work on this one though.  I've cracked the dry saag bhaji and mushroom bhaji, so not quite sure what my plans are yet for 2013 ??? ::)

NO worries on the production of the NIS - we have many products in the supermarkets at the moment so it would be on hold if considered but now you mention it, for the future who knows.
The problem with making the meals, punters want to buy what they know. Example they will really hesitate at buying Chicken Mughlai - but will buy Chicken Korma.
Anyhow we have branched  out across Thailand now into 4 supermarkets in Bangkok and Pattaya. Inclusion of other products will have to wait - however im open to suggestions to whats popular in the UK.

Once again CH great job on this curry

Phil i think it would work with ordinary Pre cooked Chicken - the only difference would be the smokey taste missing in the chicken tikka. There is enough spices in the sauce etc and the peppers and onions if pre cooked the way i did, letting the edges of the onions singe. Delicious.

best, Rich

That looks very tasty indeed. Infact it looks almost exactly the same as the special korai I ask the Shanaz to make me from time to time. I simply ask them to add a little of the masala paste they use.

Having tried this with both plain pre-cooked chicken and chicken tikka, my preference is always plain.

This is for Phil the only difference is the smokey tandoor taste on the chicken.
