Hi
« on: December 08, 2010, 04:50 PM »
No encouragement needed here to post. Have been recommended this site from a member of another forum.

The one thing I am always unclear about when joining a new forum is whether to just ask whatever I am needing an answer to or search endless threads & links where I might get my answer without posting. I suppose if we all used the latter method there would hardly be any posts.

For instance I have tried to cook onion bargee previously by deep frying it using raw onions and ended up with the bargees falling apart in the pan or tasting of raw flour. I recently found a recipe that uses fried onions and is then cooked in the oven. I found this method more satisfactory.

Anyway theres my introduction.

Hi Mike

Welcome to the forum.

Coincidentally we are trying to get our Bhaji group testing finished at the moment, why not read about it here: https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4978.0

IN the mean time, Dipuraja makes a splendid Bhaji, why not watch his video to see how it is done: https://curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4429.0

Cheers

Welcome, Mike.  In view of your onion bargee experience, you are clearly a prime candidate for taking part in the Onion Bhaji Group Test !

I am probably not the best candidate for taking part in the Bhaji test as I find it difficult to obtain some specific ingredients. I will tend to "substitute" ingredients which defeats the objective of doing a test. However I will try the recipies (as closely as possible) for Onion Bhaji in the thread.

Having looked around the site a little I immediately realise I have come to the right place for help with Indian Cooking. I think we all understand what we are trying to achieve. Quite honestly I have attempted to cook curries for 30 years with only occasional successes.

I can say straight away I have already learned something,  how tom spell Bhaji.
