The photos in the guardian article look completely frazzled and not at all well cooked, unlike Chewytikka's photos. I don't think I share the opinion of the article's author on what makes a good bhaji

You don't have to cook them till they are frazzled but they do taste great. I will try a few more recipes though. Not one to pass up on a bit of cooking

I agree completely. They're unlike any BIR bhaji I've ever had, flavour wise.

They don't look too bad to me at all, LouP! I would certainly eat them!

In the present absence of Chewy's recipe, I'm going to have a go at ChrisWG's Indian Garden-Style Bhajis again. I did try them out a while ago, but they turned out a dog's breakfast! I'll get them right this time, though.

Just need to pop out and buy a decent deep-fat fryer and I'm good to go.
