Chicken Tikka (Laziza)
« on: September 16, 2022, 02:24 PM »
Returned to an old favourite.  Got 3 x 1 kg jars for £9.99 each via Amazon Prime.  Not particularly cheap, but the main thing was that no driving and searching shops required.  Recall it could be tricky to get hold of.  Good shelf date too.

Grilled

Tester after 3 hrs marinade

24 hr Marinade

In the end made up about 1 kg

I really like the Laziza brand.  I have a few packet mixes of the Tikka Botti, but I haven't come across the paste.  I'm in Wentworthville on Thursday so I'll have a look for it.  How much paste do you use for 1 kg of chicken?

Hi livo.  For this I did 2 x 500 g batches.  A good heaped tbls plus a "rounded" tbls for each batch.  Other additions (optional) were 1 tbsp fresh garlic/ginger paste, 2 tbls fresh double cream,  1 1/2 tsp Coleman's mint sauce, 1 tsp ground black pepper and 1/2 tsp deep orange food colouring.  All mixed together with water to form a loose paste.  Enough veg oil to give a glossy, separated finish.  At least 1 cup.

Always found that even without the additions it gives a full-flavoured tikka starter, much better then anything I have experienced at TAs or restaurants.  Even better on a BBQ.  It should also be available in smaller jars.  Their Tandoori paste is also very good, imo.
