Friday Curry Club 24/4/2015
« on: April 25, 2015, 05:23 PM »
The curry night went extreme , Chicken Reaper Volcano

Oil tempered with cinnamon bay and cardamon, 2 dried moruga scorpion chilli pods added,  small finely diced onion fried off, 1Tb fresh garlic puree 1 minute, 2 ts mix powder, stir, 1tb freshly ground cayenne, 1/2 Tb freshly ground kashmiri, 1/2 ts reaper chilli , fry, add chef spoon tinned toms, 1 ts tamarind concentrate, pinch methi, salt , base added and reduced , base added reduced, etc

After taste testing 4 superhot pickles it didnt taste as hot as should of , but it was still very very hot and delicious  ;)

Edit - forgot to add finger and bullet chilles to the recipe list  ;)

Reading that ingredient list that seems very hot. Looks nice though  :)

Andy.   Curry look super good and very rich & hot, but I've got to comment on your Naans....  They always look consistently fantastic!!!

Looks delicious, MA! Too hot for me, I suspect, but I wouldn't mind giving it go anyway with some of that naan to scoop it up.

I wish I had done some naans for my own curry tonight, but a hard day in the garden meant the naans were for another day. :)

No offence meant to you or indeed Andy. He produces stunning curries, and is the go-to person for all things very spicy :)

Was just having a gentle poke in Andy's belly about the naan. I'm sure it was lovely.

But it isn't the 'best on here', as I'm sure Andy would admit. Look at Onions' latest post here

To be fair to Garp, the naan was well below par and slightly burnt, but it was all about the curry and heat, even the rice was from a packet (shock horror)  ;)
