i have seen measurements as chefs spoon how much is a chefs spoon ? :

Mine is 4 tbsp or 60ml. Am pretty sure there is a 2 tbsp version too so can be confusing.

The importance to me is the handle length which keeps your arms away from the heat along with a profile that matches the pan internal rim so its  efficient at scraping the rim.

Yep same as above, I have several but favour a wooden handled chef spoon, it just feels so dam good in my handle
length is very important, it avoids burning your hand in deep pots.

What's a chef spoon?

It has many meanings, but in the context of BIR I would say it is an implement favoured in takeaways, where it doubles as a stirrer and a method of quickly getting spices from large tubs into the pan.

In the home kitchen, where most normal people don't have large plastic tubs of spices, it has no practical benefit to your cooking and is favoured by the more pretentious, or easily persuaded.

This has been discussed on the forum previously. As far as I recall, the consensus centred around a chefs spoon measuring 45ml or 3 tbsp. There doesn't seem to be a clear definition as JerryM says above. For example, JB, in his base recipe, gives his chefs spoon measurement as 4 tbsp.

If you go with 45 ml or 3 tbsp, you won't go far wrong.

In a scientifically controlled experiment just carried out over the kitchen sink, my 3 metal spoons each hold 2 tablespoons of water..
