I like my Kenwood Tri-Blade (700W). We had one at work and it got some hammer and seemed to cope well.

SoberRat,

The Kenwood tri-blade 700w works for me,
worth every penny.

A found it a good compromise between quality and price.

Over the years I have used cheaper blenders and they failed and were inefficient.

I would give this Kenwood tri-blade 8/10 (for a home blender)
for power, noise and efficiency.

Hope this helps.

The best I've ever seen are the Bamix ones. Seen them demo'd at the NEC a couple of times. They look the dogs doo dahs and very versatile too. There's only one reason I don't own one tho...???s..but I've bowed to one day treat myself.

I nearly bowed down but they are dear. They even go for good money second hand.

Have you had the silvercrest for long?

Receipt (sellotaped to the box) says 29th November 2012.

I have seen that the Bamix is good but I was a bit puzzled by the low wattage (160w) in comparison with others. My parents own one and they have said that it is good but they don't blend many base gravies.

That is going well for the money then. I think even if I do get an expensive one I will get one of these when they come up again anyway.

Thanks for that, it was one that I am looking at, I agree about the price, it seems to be good value.
