Made some more base with the silvercrest blender and I have to say that it is so much better. I sieve my base and this time the ball of debris was a quarter of the size of my last lot. This means there is less flavour being thrown away IMO. Bargain price for this blender.

I know the Bamix is very good but it does cost a lot more than the Lidl one and as the silvercrest comes with a 3 year warranty I just thought it was worth trying, I'm glad I did.

Bamix is ok it was a gift from my wife , but after a few years I'm not so impressed with the speed. It's a good build but IMO it's not worth the cash.

That is the difference that I noticed with the silvercrest over the Braun that I had before. It was 150w and just didn't seem to blend by comparison. If this one only lasts 3 years it will have paid for itself as it will only be used for BIR. I got 2 so that one is used for other things.
