The good old fashioned Aussie sausage curry is one of the worlds best comfort foods.
reminded me that I am regularly indulging in a comfort food of my own creation, which I thought I should share.  Unlike my other comfort foods (Primula cheese, Edam, Brussels' p

A four-pack of Stella with two packets of Pickled Onion Monster Munch.

Barring that, oatcakes with butter, blue cheese and onion relish or sweet chilli sauce  :)

Tom yam gai mien is getting close to infringing antidiscrimination laws phil.  It sounds pretty nice though and almost in the 4 ingredient cookbook category for simplicity.

if you're talking meals, sausage and bean supper (sausages, beans, carrots and lots of chilli powder!), or my childhood favourite smoked haddock with mash and white sauce (make a roux from the milk you cook the haddock in, dash of salt and pepper, and thicken with cornflour, pour over the mashed potatoes - delish!)

for snacks, can't beat a nice selection of strong and smelly cheeses and biscuits; www.damnfinecheese.co.uk do some lovely cheddars with a twist... or as Garp suggests I'd settle for a big bottle of Thatchers Gold with some Roast Beef Monster Munch ;)

Now that is comfort food, and again something I have only eaten once in many, many years and even that was about 3 years ago.  I'll have to add that to the "to do" list.  It used to be a regular along with sausage curry when I was a kid.

I do still regularly hot smoke my own catch sometimes and it's not bad either.
