Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum so just thought I would say hello and introduce myself. I am a 25 year old psychology graduate from Sunderland with a love for all things curry related.
I have joined this forum for cooking hints and tips to help broaden my culinary skills.
I am looking forward to trying many, many new recipes!

Welcome Honey, you'll need plenty psychology on here but for all things curry related, you've come to the right place. Don't be frightened to ask if you get stuck.

If you're new to BIR, as I am, you can't go wrong with starting with either Dipurajas, Cory Anders or Chewy Tikkas bases and recipes to start out with.

Hi Honey,
Welcome to the forum.
Sometimes its a bit like Grandads Army, sitting on a park bench, discussing all things trivial.
But don't let that put you off.
What is your favourite Restaurant Curry, that you would like to make at home?
cheers ChewyTikka
I'm local, South Shields and I do talk to Maccams ;D

Thanks Gav, I will have a browse through the recipes and pick some to try out.
Haha Chewy, that definitely won't put me off. My favourite restuarant curry is madras, I'd love to learn to make it 'restuarant style' at home. I love side dishes such as saag aloo too. Ooh a 'sand dancer' hmm? Haha well why wouldn't you speak to us mackems? Rumour has it that we are the nicest people in the North East! ;D

Rumours, Rumours ;D
I've made a few video recipes, of me knocking up my supper.
Theres a couple on Madras, you might one to look at.

Making a good Madras has a technique/method, which is the opposite
to your usual text book recipes and even goes beyond culinary logic somewhat.
cheers ChewyTikka

Thank you very much, I will have to try this! It looks amazing!
This might sound like a stupid question but what do you mean by 'spice mixture'? I am guessing it means a mixture of spices ha but which spices?
Thanks again!

Hi Honey
No stupid questions when you starting off.
The restaurants use what they call a Mix Powder, Instead of just a straight forward bought Curry Powder.
Every cook does a slightly different mix. Which leads to discussion on which is the best etc
