Welcome Honey.  You couldn't have come to a better place to learn about BIR curry, especially madras, nor could you have found a better place to do some phsyco analysis  ;D  There a few on here close to going off the rails, and some have long since left the track  :) :) :)

Thanks Chewy, I think I will try your mixture. I have quite a lot of spices, I usually get them from Chester road in Sunderland, but I will have a look in Castletown too because I always like to add to my collection  ;D

Hi Stephen, Seaburn is a lovely area of Sunderland. I haven't had the pleasure of spending much time in Scotland yet but I have visited Edinburgh and absolutely loved it!

Haha curryhell, well maybe in return for some amazing curry recipes I can offer some psychoanalysis?  ;)

Another local lad Gav! Seems to be a few North-Easterners on here!

HI
Hutchinsons on Chester road have all the ingredients you will need

its a fruit n veg shop on one side .
spices and powders on the other side

fresh ocra ,chillies coriander etc etc  at the back of the shop ,plus halal butcher ,good prices

check it out, its  just a little way up from the Chester's pub .on the left as you leave Sunderland City centre.

Hi Steevee00,

Thank you. That's where I usually get my spices, vegetables etc from. It's really handy, just around the corner from me! I will definitely have to stock up, now just need a weekend to dedicate to curries!
