You could completely BIR this this dish by adding base instead of water and adding a tsp of mix but why bother then everything wouyld just end up as an ultimate curry.

But it already Is BIR.  ;D

This was the point i wanted to make. Not everything that comes out of a BIR needs gravy or mixed powder and why i like to push people towards Traditional methods.
Too many people jump in at the deep end with gravy and mixed powder without understanding the ingredients they're cooking with.
If you're struggling, then its always best to go back to the roots.  :)

Well done fried.  Looks an interesting dish.  I hope to do my chosen dish and post results over the weekend.  A bit late I know but better late than never ::)
