Here's an idea, not that I've tried it myself, yet. But I expect it to work.
Take some piping and bend it to the desired shape, like a circle, or perhaps make do with straight runs for ease of construction. Drill loads of holes in it. Block one end and feed gas in the other end, via a pressure regulator and orifice. Write your will, ignite and assess.
Where am I coming from? Well, I saw burner rings which looked like they were probably intended for tandoor ovens, in at least one supermarket down Brick Lane. They didn't have fancy jets or nozzles, but relied just on holes drilled in the steel pipe, plus some form of inlet orifice, I guess. What could be simpler?
The holes were larger diameter than in the following video but I guess the principle is the same:
