base gravy defrosting

Hi all
I have just made chewytikka's base gravy using a 6Lt pressure cooker (chewy's 1 hour video states a 4Lt pressure cooker), i have ended up with around 8 - 9Lt's of base gravy after reducing it to the correct consistency. I usually freeze it in plastic containers of 300ml (one portion).
To save space in the freezer would it be possible to fill this container with 600ml ( two portions) which the container would take and use no extra freezer space then use 300ml when defrosted and put the other 300ml in the fridge till required. If so how long will it last in the fridge till required.
Regards

Gary, yes. Once defrosted you'll have up to 3 days to use the sauce. By the way it's better to keep the base sauce on the thick side when you make it, then dilute with water after you defrost. That's much more space and energy efficient than freezing an already diluted sauce.
When I freeze base sauce I freeze it in 200ml portions then dilute up to 350ml with added water at the defrosting stage. To achieve this I limit the water I add during the cooking stages.

I'm sure you'll get through that in no time
;D. No reason why you can't do that. Some would suggest you use the remaining base within 2-3 days. I would say it's good for 5 days.
Alternatively, you could abandon the containers and use small freezer bags for 300ml portion as per picture below- no wasted space in the freezer that way leaving room for even more gravy ;D
