Topic: Balti dish & Rice oval dish: which size?

Seeing some pictures on this forum gives me the desire for buying some balti dishes and rice oval dishes.

The trouble is I don't know which size is the most suitable for single portions.

Would you advise these:

Hi Achille.  DON'T SPEND any money just yet.  There are a lot cheaper and just as good options around.  I'll provide a few details and measurements of my dishes tomorrow if somebody else doesn't put you right first.

Anyway, standard size balti dish size 6" (15 cms) diameter both black iron or stainless steel




Standard stainless steel rice plate is 9"x6 1/2


Standard stainless steel serving dish 7 1/2 x 5 1/2" and the small vegetable dish 6 1/2 x 4 3/4"




The following dishes will hold two portions or one good portion with room to spare:
Handi dish 6 3/4" in diameter, copper and brass balti 7 1/4" in diameter, black iron balti 8" in diameter

Ah, I'm understanding the problem now Achille.  Unfortunately, there is a price to pay for living on an idylic island.  In your case it's the P&P mate . Hope you get what you want at a good price overall.  Glad you enjoyed the "dishes" .  We all tend to eat with our eyes and the presentation goes a good way getting you ready for a tasty dish.
