SOUTH TYNESIDE CURRY CHEF FINAL 2012

SOUTH TYNESIDE CURRY CHEF FINAL 2012
Their at it again, four Restaurant and Take Away Chefs battle it out in our local council run competition.
The rules this year were a three course meal from the menu they serve to the public on a daily basis.
A one hour cooking time slot and everything from scratch (nothing precooked).
The two Restaurant Chefs showed off their presentation skills and the TakeAway fayre was more simplified, as you would expect.

A very interesting result
cheers Chewy

Great stuff as always Chewy, it's always great to see real chefs doing their thing.
Looking at that I was expecting Ali Hussain to get it.
Cheers,
Mick

Interesting & innovative idea from the council - seems like a good way to raise standards in local food outlets. More carrot than stick.

I thought the chef from Stylhet Spice did well to get base sauce cooked and blended within the hour timescale (leaving time for cooking his final curry). Not too sure how he did that?!

I see Zeera won last year's competition, guess that's how you know of it chewy? South Tyneside Council Curry Chef Competition 2011

Thanks Mick
I wasn't at this comp, the first one I've missed since they started in 2008,
but I know everybody involved and It's nail biting stuff and has become very competitive.
Ali Hussain was favourite, because he's an old hand at winning awards, but not this time.

Hi NJ
I posted last years video here at the time.
