Topic: Coronation Chicken Recipe Request

I was just looking again at 976bar's thread on Pre-cooked Chicken and the delicious party food he prepared.

In particular, I was interested in the Coronation Chicken, as, for the first time in years, I had some with a baked potato in a Dobbie's cafe just last week. I've had a reasonable hunt around the web but I can't really find a recipe that tickles my fancy. The one's I've looked at are either more complicated and time-consuming than I want, or just don't look quite right.

Has anyone a tried and trusted recipe that can be thrown together reasonably quickly? I thought 976bar's Coronation Chicken looked particularly tasty!

I've said it before in a previous thread, but I "should have gone to SpecSavers"!

I did a search for a Coronation Chicken recipe before I posted up the request, but I couldn't see anything useful. I've just ran the search again and there it is - No.1 in the list!

I can tell you a very funny (and true) story about someone who should have gone to Specsavers.  A friend and fellow trustee of Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide took some our our publicity leaflets into a pub in which he had some business to which to attend.  Whilst chatting to the landlord, he asked the latter if he would be willing to display one of our posters.  The landlord scanned it (glassed perched on top of his head) and then asked, rather accusingly, "So you believe in this sort of thing, do you ?".  My friend, somewhat taken aback, said "Yes, of course I do", at which point the landlord pulled down his glasses and had a better look.  "Oh", he said, somewhat embarrassed : "it's Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide -- I thought it was Safe Euthenasia Worldwide ..." !
