Hi Shaun welcome to the site.

I've never made the dish but I do love cumin, I think i'd probably go along the lines of:

5-6 Charlotte potatoes, peeled and halved.
0.5 Onion, finely chopped
1-2 Green chillies, chopped
2 tsp Cumin seeds (I would use black out of preference)
1 tsp Ginger & garlic paste
0.5 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp (rounded) Mix powder
1 tsp Chilli powder
Pinch of Salt
2 tbls Oil
Chopped coriander

Parboil the potatoes and set aside. Heat oil add onion and green chilli and soften, add the cumin seeds and garlic & ginger and cook for a couple of mins, add the remaining spices and stir through season with salt, add the potatoes and stir through. Serve sprinkled with chopped coriander.
