My Curries
« on: April 26, 2012, 09:55 PM »
Ok
So a couple of you guys have been asking for some pictures so here they are.... :)   I thought I had a lot more to be honest......oh well, I will just have to cook some more curry!!

Be kind, I am still very new to using the BIR method and some of these pics do not use it (although they are still very tasty dishes!!!)

Base Gravy - Got this recipe from Real Curry Recipes (link currently down so have not posted) and I think out of the three bases I have tried so far is still the best....

Bombay Potato

Some Curries

Chicken Jalfrezi (using base)

Chicken Kholaprui (Not from Base) - lovely dish

Chicken Madras and Bombay Potato

Pilau Rice (Again, link is down for this one.)  - Lovely rice. Perfect every time!

Kebab (Go on  say what you want  ;D  - they look terrible but they tasted fantastic  8) ) Cooked with Beef Mince

Thai Green Chicken Curry (another beautiful dish not using base)

My Thali (What I would normally eat!! - Cook 3 curries and have them all over 2 days!!)

Hope you like them!

Thanks mr.mojorisin :)

Funnily enough it is making me a bit hungry now too  :P   I guess that is the problem having a freezer full of kebabs, rice and curries.............you know it is all too easy to just jump in there and put that microwave into action!!!!

*Already eaten, urge to eat must be quashed*

Hehe, niece one emin-j  :) everyone I showed this kebab pic too hates it!!! But they really did taste good. I could not stop eating them  8)

Thanks natterjak :)   that base is still the best one of the 3 I have used so far. I will definitely go back to that one. Will probably try a base gravy from this site first just to make sure though  ;)

The base I am using at the moment is the 3 litre curry2go base from the ebook which I bought about a couple of weeks ago as I have some good success following Julian's videos. The only emission from the base was the seasoned oil which I did not have any of.

I do have seasoned oil now though as cooked a batch of Onion Bhaji's on Sunday :)

That's a fine food fest there Tongey.  My mouth is watering, i'm craving Indian and it's only 7:00 am :o All looking very good other than the kebabs :'( No matter how one tries to dress them up they never quite have that appealing look to them, do they.  Maybe something to do with the shape ::).  But they always taste so damn good.  Good luck in the kitchen on Saturday.  Keep us posted with the results and of course post some pics too ;)

Top pictures Tongey.

That base looks smooth as silk.

I like the kebab pictures. My kebabs look the same. Taste great though. Our friends always look forward to a BBQ at our place because they know they will be getting "dog turd" kebabs. ;D

Thanks for the great feedback guys  :)

@curryhell. I am looking forward to a great day in the kitchen, thanks

Thanks Aussie. I am hoping my next batch of kebabs will be pleasing to the eye as well as tasting good!!

@Steve... Chicken Kholapuri is a dish from the south western part of India - Kolhapur. This is the recipe I followed. It involves a lot of ingredients and some patience to get it right. The first time I did it, the results were terrible :( But as I had bought all the ingredients I had to try it a 2nd time and it turned out much better (as per the picture!) Here is the link..
