« on: March 19, 2012, 09:39 PM »
Hi all thought this might be of interest just type Food Standards Agency into google and then look for Food Hygiene Ratings.
Example of one local i use http://ratings.food.gov.uk/search/en-GB?q=balti+nites&sm=1&pi=0

Nobody has to show these hygiene scores but law hopefully will change in a few months time.
It is an eye opener finding out that the food you eat is being served by a restaurant/takeaway with no hygiene sense at all.
First saw this on the Food Inspectors show on BBC 1 last one is on Sunday at 4.40 pm BBC1 HD.

michael.t my local butcher only a 1 rating  :o

Interesting...

Most restaurants/takeaways in my area score a lowly 1 and a few score 2 (I've used them all!), then there's a jump to 4 for a couple ( I was delighted to see that my favourite, which is run by Nepalese, is one of them), and the one I've been frequenting for decades scores a fantastic 5. That's the only 5 among the curry houses though.

Surprisingly all the kebab shops score 3.

My butcher scores a 5, too, so overall I'm a) surpirsed and b) pleased.
