New hand blender
« on: November 28, 2011, 11:56 AM »
Had this little beauty Friday and i must say its the dogs
http://www.kenwoodworld.com/en-in/Products/Food-Preparation/Hand-Blenders/Hand-Blender3/

Ginger and garlic(100g of each) takes 10 seconds to blend into a paste, the "Big Foot" attachment(for soups) is excellent made lorrydoo's CTM recipe and blended the gravy in 30 seconds no bits just perfectly smooth.
If you are in need of a new hand blender give this a go, you wont be disappointed.

I also have this hand blender and I completely agree - it's very good. The big foot is superb at blending bases.

Thanks for the tip on the Kenwood HB724 blender.  Mine arrived today, which was just in time as I had a batch of C2G base on the go in the slow cooker and literally unpacked the blender and plunged it into service within minutes.  Very good blending performance, quite impressed already.

Have you figured out all the accessories yet? I'm wondering whether to use the soup blender or the main blender shaft for blending a pan full of base sauce. Yesterday I used the main blender attachment on the basis that it's metal and so less likely to stain.

I have used the big foot on a base and it didnt stain but in the book you get with the blender it says that rubbing a bit of oil onto the attachment should stop any staining, i dont know if this works, i use the big foot attachment every time i need to blend anything thats in a big pan. Have you tried the chopper bit yet, it does ginger and garlic in no time, one thing is when you come to clean the attachments dont get the "collar" bit wet, i just swill under hot water then wipe everything down with a sponge as soon as i have finished using it.
