Lloyd Grossman botulism scare
«

Just heard on a news flash about 2 children suffering from botulism after eating some Lloyd Grossman korma sauce from a jar.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/11/13/loyd-grossman-korma-sauce-warning-over-botulism-poisoning-fears-115875-23559510/
Hope the kids are ok but another reason to make your own curries I guess.

yes , scary stuff. I never liked his crappy sauces anyway!! lloyds madras tastes like a pasta sauce ! i wonder if it was the garlic paste that was in the sauce that carried the botulism ??

Hi DD,
Yes it could be the garlic content. We tried one of those korma jars about 3 years ago before I discovered cr0.
It was pretty unpleasant with a sharpness to the flavour that is nothing like we expect from a korma.
On top of that those jars are about 2 quid!
Cheers,
Paul

I find any pre-made sauce in a jar to be rank, sweet and has an un-naturally glossy sheen to them; flat out rank. The only ones I will eat are the cans of Patak's and the pouches of Shear Khan.
