Hi

Anyone know what angle to cut trim to go around fire on top of laminate its doing my head in.

Confused !  Are you laying laminate flooring around a pre-existing fireplace, and then wanting to put a quadrant beading (or similar) on top of the laminate and against the edge of the fireplace (in which case all you need to do is mitre the joins at 45o or theta/2 if you have any corners that are not 90o) or something else ?

laminate is down cant work out how to cut the beeding at an angle so the front mitres meet its the shape of the beeding that is throwing me its 3 flat side back side curved front

If the beading is in the same orientation along the sides and the front of the fire (and assuming that the corners are right-angles, or close enough to make no difference) then a 45o mitre should be all you need, no matter what shape the beading is.  Bear in mind that you can't make just one cut, though, and then expect the two pieces to align : you need to make one cut at +45o and the other at -45o  (i.e., like this ___\   and this /___) so there will always be a waste piece unless you plan ahead.

Yep 45 degree, nip down to b and q and get yourself a cheap mitre box for a few quid.

Hi all

i have sorted it now got a mitre box off farther in law i was cutting at 45 degrees but had it upright instead of on the flat edge cheers for the advise anyway

Oh yes, that is so easily done !  Can't think how many pieces of beading I have wasted by inadvertently rolling it through 90o before cutting ...
