Phil, how did you get to that review for the item?
I've used these untreated carbon steel woks before and they are much better than non-stick varieties providing that you look after them. My tips are:1) Season it before first use (forms a non-stick barrier); 2) Straight after serving wash it cold water without any detergent and dry thoroughly with kitchen towels (retains most of the barrier and helps it to build up); 3) Wipe the inside with a kitchen towel damped with vegetable oil before storing away (keeps the rust off).Hope it helps.
