Pork Pakora inna bun!
« on: April 08, 2011, 07:41 PM »
Just been making some food for a friends party tomorrow and had some pakora batter left. Decided to experiment with my tea which went as follows.... Take one pork loin steak and beat with a tenderiser until reduces in thickness by half but doubled in diameter, coat in batter and fry until golden. place in soft bread bun with sliced tomato, onion and lettuce and spread a small amount of mint rita on the top of the bun.

This was excellent :)

What was in your batter? Did you add any spices to the pork?

I local T/A send out a complimetary dish of thinly sliced Aubergine deep fried in a Pakora batter, very good indeed!

The pork was un seasoned and un spiced, nothing but the pakora batter which is Jeera's recipe from this post http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=1541.0

That sounds very good indeed, I will certainly be giving it a go.

It just goes to show what recipes are actually tucked away on this forum. If you hadn't posted this topic, i'd still be none the wiser. Thanks for putting it up.

 :)

no problems, it's good to experiment. one of my other new creations is my jamacon! it's bacon cured with chilli jam instead of sugar with a good spoon of spice mix. it's great in a fresh roll, not ideal with eggs and beans though :)

Lol, it sounds quite bizarre!  :P

You can't beat a good bacon sarnie with rashers of smoked back bacon, in between two door stops of freshly baked farmhouse all oozing with real butter......or can you?  ;D
