Hi

In addition to a day to day consistency issue, I think there is also a time of day consistency issue.

I am convinced that curry's produced soon after opening time often do not have the magical property that ones cooked an hour or two later have.

One can only guess as to why this may be, cross curry contamination, being able to reclaim oil from a now warm / hot big pot of base, chef now warmed up and on a roll etc.

So many factors to consider...

Inconsistency in food quality is something which appears to be common in Indian restaurants.  When I read reviews of restaurants on the internet, some reviews praise a restaurant and say the food and service was wonderful while other reviews says the food and service was terrible.  I find this odd.

i've found the same. the only thing i can put it down to is a difference in expectation. for example the Chinese buffets are really good vfm and very popular. u must not expect though the food to be top notch but the range and eating experience may well more than compensate (as it does for us which is also unusual for us)
