Chicken Malaya
« on: September 10, 2010, 08:27 PM »
Hello all,
I've been trying the recipes on this fabulous site with the most amazing results. Making curries has now become a pleasure that I look forward to. My wife loves a chicken Malaya that we get from our local Indian and I haven't seen a recipe for this one, It's like a korma but with pineapple. Can anyone help?

Ps thanks for all the recipes so far - all good!

at the risk of stating the obvious that's exactly what it is - a korma with pineapple thrown in at the end, likewise throw in some banana instead of pineapple and you have a burma.

Have you tried a korma recipe yet? If so then you are sorted.

Thanks. I didn't know if there was more to it, as the one from my local BIR was a slightly different texture from Korma. But I'll give it a go with the pineapple.

if it's a slightly different texture (less smooth perhaps?) it may be that they add some grounds nuts, e.g. almond powder, ground cashews etc.?
