It's probably not very good but for ?1.99 might be worth a watch, although I don't have a VHS player anymore

I've got it
It's not bad, but there are no real surprises
You get a folded, printed A4 sheet with the four recipes onVeg Balti, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tarka Dhal and Onion Bhajii
The fun is seeing it done
Pat really can cook (as Mark saw, on his curry cooking day with Pat)
Here's the main recipe

Chicken Tikka Masala
 Serves 4

4-6 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon coriander
1/2 teaspoon mango powder
1 teaspoon cummin
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
enough water to make a paste (I think Pat started this idea)
2-3 teaspoon tomato puree
1 teaspoon beetroot powder (has anyone ever managed to get this? I can't)
1 tablespoon yoghurt
675 g cubed chicken breast
200g yoghurt

2-3 tablespoon oil
1 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
3 cloves garlic
2.5 cm ginger
200g finely chopped onion

1 green pepper
1 red pepper
8 cherry tomatoes
2 green chillies
100ml cream of tomato soup (worth trying)
100ml single cream
fresh coriander
 1-2 teaspoons garam masala
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup (interesting idea we've talked about)
salt


Mix together the first 14 ingredients including the chicken and the yoghurt for a marination of up to 60 hours in the fridge
Fry seeds garlic, ginger and onion until golden (for at least ten minutes)
Add the marinaded chicken and stir fry for about 5 minutes
Add the remaining ingredients and stir fry until the chicken is white right through
At least eight minutes more

I made this and it was ok
Not much like my local takeaway, but still enjoyable
The video is a bit cheesy and made my kids laugh
I, however, am still glad I bought it!

I've just noticed that yoghurt is in twice in the ingredients
I guess that's a misprint!

Ive got some  ;D, has to be one of pats rarest ingredients, its only used as a healthy substitute for red food colouring so not essential

The other one often mentioned is annatto (sp?) seed powder. I've never come across that either. Any suggestions for suppliers please?

Cheers, - I'll have a a spice cupboard clearout this weekend so that i can make up the minimum order. Good to see they have black cumin seeds too - they're hard to find in this part of the world.

Now, black cumin seeds are useful, unlike the other 2 ingredients. Very aromatic, I always use black cumin seeds instead of ordinary when making pilau rice
