When i visit Akbar my favourite dish is Roshan lal; a spicy lamb dish cooked with onions , tomatoes & peppers in a rich sauce, garnished with fresh onions & coriander. but i cant find any recipes for it.. does anyone know how to make it?

Hi Fi5H
It's a strange one this. A quick search on google throws up nothing more than, a few famous people in various fields with the name Roshan Lal? I'm sure that you have already done this?
From your description of the dish, It does like, what is described on many menus in Manchester as a Rogan Josh. I'm wondering if it is perhaps a corruption of the words Rogan Josh, a bit like Matsaman is a corruption of the word, Muslim? However, if you also have Rogan Josh on the same menu, then bang goes that theory.
Sorry not to be of more help

Just visited Akbar last week and had the Roshan Lal on recommendation from a friend.Must be one of the nicest indian dishes I have had for a long time.I thought it was a cross between a madras and Stifado(Greek dish).I'm going to have a go at recreating it by making a Madras (cooked in an oven to intensify tomato flavour) and adding some cloves and bayleaves that give Stifado its distinctive taste.
I'll let you know if it comes anywhere close to Akbars.
