June 2010 Group Test - Seekh Kebabs

So the new section isn't quite up and running yet but that doesn't mean we can't get the ball rolling.
We have decided to start the group test reviews with starters and sides. Firstly they are easier to make and review, secondly they are better for this time of year. As Domi mentioned, when it's hot the last thing you want it to stay in and stand over a hot stock pot for hours! Most Indian starters, however, go great with a BBQ.
Confirmed reviewers are:
Me
Razor
PeterandJen
Axe
and PaulP for base sauces and curry recipes.
It would be great to have one more to help with the starters. If you want to be a part of this PM me or post below. Anyone is welcome regardless of experience or ability.
So far the suggestions are:
CA's Seekh kebab

Razor's Seekh Kebab
http://www.curry-recipes.co.uk/curry/index.php?topic=4393.0
Dipurajas Seekh Kebab

Curry Devs Seekh Kebab

Plus Axe might have a recipe to throw into the mix too. If I have missed a good one out post below and we can decide in a few days which the final 5 will be.
Next month could be chicken tikka, onion bhajis or naan breads. I'll start a new thread for people to post links to their favourite recipes.

Hi Chris,
Have we decided on the rating criteria yet? Will it be as has been suggested?
Cost
Texture
Ease
Taste
1-5, 5 being the highest?

All suggestions are welcome but those 4 criteria would cover the main areas. If people are only interested in getting the best taste they can just look at the taste scores.
I think a mark out of 10 or 20 for each section would be better. I'm not a big fan of 5 point ratings, it's too easy to give anything half decent a 4.

Hi Chris, I take your point but whatever we decide it would have to be conclusive.
The 5 point system works if the rules are good i.e;
1 = very poor
2 = poor
3 = average
4 = good
5 = very good
So for example:
Seekh kebab No1 rating out of a possible 25
in comparison to BIR.
Taste = 4
Texture = 3
Appearance = 3
Ease = 4
Cost = 4
Total Rating:
18
/25
We could then offer a summary underneath?
