Fav Places to Shop
« on: May 15, 2010, 08:36 AM »
canicant came up with this idea which would be real help as quite often u don't realise what's on u're door step. i thought i knew the city quite well but obviously don't as i'd never been to this emporium:

Hondo Trading Co, 5-11 Upper Duke Street, Liverpool, L1 9DU

this is a Chinese place. real impressed with the place and the staff. they also have real good range of Indian stuff.

Well, here's my fav place to shop.

If any of you guy's ever get to visit the Tameside area of Manchester, then give this place a go.  The staff a really frendly and more than happy to help.

Just one thing, ignore the map on the link, it's nowhere near there?  Also, the address should read,  75 - 83 OLDHAM road, not Ashton rd.

Dong Dong in the Beastmarket in Huddersfield is great for spices, like Jerry's, it's primarily Oriental but carry a good stock of Indian foods/ingredients. I use a place on Bradford Road (dunno the name of it - it's a big double-fronted shop on the left just as you come out of the Town centre) Cheap and they have a large turnover of stock....you can't miss it - it looks like it's been barricaded with sacks of onions lol

Pak Food 309-315 Normanton Road Derby DE23 6UU

Ahmed foods, Leeds Road Bradford. A place so politely muslim that irrespective of your race, all the women stand back at the checkout to allow men to be served first.

Their vegetable are fantastically fresh and they have a dry goods and spices range as wide as you can imagine. There are others around that part of Bradford but Ahmed's gets my vote.
