Michael Winner's Dining Stars
« on: March 13, 2010, 11:32 AM »
How many of you have watched any of the 3 episodes screened so far? Last night's included an Indian buffet laid on for Michael Winner by an Indian-looking family in Solihull. Michael Winner has high standards and awarded the cook no stars.  I wasn't surprised. Re-heating the food did not impress him at all. Another dinner party was so good (Roast Lamb, etc) that he awarded the cook 2 stars. It's a good concept. Watch again online at itv.com - Michael Winner's Dining Stars.

Also repeated at 12:10 today, Saturday 13 March on ITV1 i.e. just after noon.

Hi George, I've just watched the repeat episode purely for the Indian buffet. Have to say I've avoided the programme so far as I can't bear Michael Winner I find him to be pompous, malodorous man whose ego by far outweighs his talents - though having said that, I didn't think he was as bad in this episode as I'd presumed he would be and in truth I quite enjoyed the programme.

I'd like to know what was in that blue cocktail...would you know if the recipe for it is posted anywhere?

I don't think so. On the itv.com website they have selected recipes frpom the series but not all recipes, they say, for copyright reasons - presumably not original recipes. They give the recipe for the Indian starter and sweet but not the main course or cocktail.  The main course was the only element I was interested in, including fish biryani. Michael Winner didn't seem very impressed with it, though. She must have been gutted.
