Rice cookers

Hi All,
I recently bought a rice cooker from my local Asian supermarket. I'm really pleased with the results, using a 2 rice - 3 water ratio. The only trouble, or annoying thing about it, is I always end up having to throw about a half size portion away because it goes brown and sticks to the bottom of the inner bowl.
Anyone got any suggestions on how to stop this from happening? I've tried a smidgen of oil in the bottom, make no difference.
Also, I was wondering if I could cook pilau rice in it?

Hi Razor I havent used a rice cooker but use a steamer, the trouble with putting spices into your rice ,turmeric mainly, will stain the bowl.
With the steamer i give the rice a stir about half way through to stop it sticking but with a rice cooker i dont know whether you can do that.
Not much help, but you could give the stirring half way through a go.

Try spraying the inside with some of that pan spray, the healthier stuff.
It will help to stop the staining and it may help with sticking issues too? Spray it and leave it for about 5 minutes then proceed as usual. Oil will always help depending on how you are doing it of course?

Hi
The rice sticking is part and parcel of using a rice cooker. Only in the west is it an issue in the east the hard bit at the bottom is the best bit.
