South Indian Garlic Chicken/Lamb

Hi All,
Recently joined the forum and I must say it's great!
I've been into making curries for some time, mixing my own masala's and pastes, etc. Now I've tried many a (authentic indian) curry recipe from the web, some better, some worse, but the results we're never quite what I was searching for until a few days ago, I did a search for BIR (which I never knew was a term) and KABLOOEY!!!
So... I don't live in the UK, but did for a few years and we visited MANY a curry house and tried MANY different dishes. But there is one we kept on returning to for one specific dish and that is the South Indian Garlic Chicken (we always replaced the chicken with lamb) at a restaurant named The Monsoon in Brick Lane.
Now I've found PanPot's Ashoka South Indian Garlic Sauce but haven't tried it - looks great though! Just have a couple of questions:
- Have anyone here been to Monsoon and tried their SIGC/L? If yes what did you think? Have you tried PanPot's version and how do they compare?
- Can I use PanPot's sauce as a base?
I also suggest some of the specialists here to go try Monsoon's version and let me know what they think AND what you think the recipe might be.
Cheers!

mookney-hay,
not been to london for a curry. have made the south indian garlic sauce. i intend to revisit it (i got onto secret santa's chilli sauce which was a priority for me - very nice).
the south indian sauce is not a base - u need to use it in conjunction with base.
