Hi all,

there is probably one on here somewhere but i cant find it!!

Does anybody know a decent veg samosa recipe? preferably like the ones from indian corner shops.

You don't need to make the shells, just get some Chinese pancake roll batter, make cones, stuff them with filling then seal the tops with egg wash. Absolutely delicious. I think you'll find that store ones are all home made by the family in any case. Hope this helps?

Hi Harbut,

I would forget the raisins and cashew nuts though. I've never had a raisin in a samosa here in the UK not would I like to either. Reminds me of the early supermarket curries that had raisins and apple pieces. Yuk!

i also saw an indian woman on tv using fresh tortilla bread as a quick and easy way of making them. again sealed with an eggwash and deep fried. also saw a woman on hairy bikers do the same and use alternative fillings. one included haggis. brilliant!!

I've done that many a time myself and they are good, I use Deli wraps too as they give a better flavour/texture...lovely filled with leftover chilli/curry too and the kids love 'em!

I use Mamta's kitchen recipe for veggie samosas - they're gone in no time though I usually up the spicing a bit...
