I stumbled across this fantastic resource only last week, and am completely hooked.
I've attempted several curry's in the past, trying to produce something that resembles a decent curry without any real success, let alone a BIR curry. I'd made a base from a different website on a couple of occasions, but thought it fell short of the mark. At the weekend I decided on this base

mainly because is seemed to produce a small enough quantity to give it a try. The results? amazing! I made a Prawn Bhuna on Saturday, with a really nice Dhall and plain rice. I topped it off with my own roti's and a bottle of Kingfisher. It was so good that we had the exact same meal on the Sunday too. My Saturdays are now occupied peeling onions
and visiting my local Indian Supermarket.
Now I'm more confident in my base cooking I'll attempt a different recipe for this weekend, I'm open to suggestions - preferably with links
A BIG thanks to everyone who posts to this website, without which I would have floundered in vain in my search for a decent home made curry.

Hi Keith
That base makes a bloody good madras - if you like 'em hot!
Here's the recipe

Thanks guys,
We both like our curry's on the hot side, so a madras could be on the cards this weekend.
The wife's a seafood eating veggie, so I might go for a duo of curry's (his and hers should we say), or a Saal Aloo, or a king prawn Jalfrezi or.... oh my god, I'll have to sell my Xbox now ;D
