Hey - Great Site
« on: August 21, 2008, 09:08 PM »
Hi,

I've had a love for Indian cooking at home since the early 90's and cooking up a restaurant style curry's, appetizers, rice and breads.

It all started from Pat Chapman's book's. I've recently acquired his books again because when I moved to the US I lost them and have started cooking again (freezer is loaded with the Curry Masala Gravy from his Favorite Restaurant Curries book at the moment) and seeing the books are fairly old just wondered if you guys can give me any links to your other favorites maybe newer recipes. I found a good one on www.Natco-online.com that I might give a go, anyone tried that one?

Thanks,

Chow  8)

You may have found one but it's not a good one ;D, I can tell you that from reading it! Have a look here and see what inspires you! Good luck!

Wow this forum is huuuuge. So not many Chapman fans then, well I only have ever got on with his 1989 Restaurant Curries book, I've tried others that were not as good (to me anyway) Kris Dillon's is Ok but not as good. So anyway I can't knock Pat because it was him who started me off years ago, now I've found this the books can go away, I love the sound of some recipes on here and will try the DarthPhal's base once I've finished up my current supply of Curry Base. Think I'm going to be a regular here.

Hi Chowie,

I think PC gets a hard time on here as a lot of people have paid out for his books only to find they are reprints and not very good to start with.  One thing PC did do though was the Curry Club magazine which gave us Bruce Edwards who recently started posting on here, check out his recipes they are amongst the best  ;)

Thanks Curry King, I noticed you have a recipe up to from a home lesson. I notice this is a few years ago so has things changed since then? I have so much catching up to do  :o
