hello from Dublin
« on: July 24, 2008, 01:37 PM »

hello everybody,

I've had a quick look about the various areas and the forum looks really useful and informative.

During the last 15+ years I've been experimenting with various curries (all vegi.. so limited I guess) and other elements of 'Indian' cooking. So I hope to learn a ton more and then also, maybe post something of interest. During the earlier experimentation period, I nearly poisoned myself, family and friends on occasion, but since the mid-90's I've been doing much better indeed.

What I'd like to find out more about are great recipes for Dum Aloo Kashmiri, Vegetable Makhanwala (or basic Makhanwala sauce) and a also find a good source for Kashmiri dried chillis.

Oh and lastly, my pet hate is finding frozen mixed vegetables being used in restaurants... curry heresy.

All the best,

BH

Hi Benny, welcome aboard. The best place to start is to download the Bruce Edwards curry house cookbook and the Indian restaurant curry and recipes e-books. Both of these are in the e-book and software section of this site. The hardest part will probably be deciding which of the myriad of wonderful base sauce recipes to use, the Bruce Edwards one, or our own darthphalls' are particularly good. one thing is for certain, you've come to the right place for bir style curry. this is the only site on the net run solely by curryholics, for curryholics. Best of luck
