Living in Sydney and need a BIR Curry
« on: July 08, 2008, 12:39 PM »
Hello, I am from the UK and moved to Australia 10 years ago.

Although Indian restaurants have taken off in Sydney they still serve the traditional fare and not the BIR dishes I came to love in the UK. We go back every two years and   always head to an Indian for one of our first meals. In OZ we get dishes which look  like they are genuine recipes with lots of 'bits' . Although they are worthy the contrast to the UK's creamy vivid sauces is amazing. I want the BIR recipes and I have juts realised from reading this site that there is a real differance.

I am looking for sweet kormas (i seem to remember them tasting mainly of coconut, banananas, cream almonds and chicken) Here they are bland and almond based.

Anyway I hope I can find the authentic BIR recipes I crave!!
