Hi from the SW
« on: May 29, 2008, 05:50 PM »
Hello all,

Stumbled on this site by accident a little while ago. What a gold mine of info!

I love my spicy food, quite well known for putting chillies on nearly every meal I eat ;D

I've recently started growing my own Scotch Bonnets and I'm looking forward to tasting them, first crop is appearing now.

My taste buds are exploding at the thought of Darthphalls Madras, so have just spent far too much money @ spicesofindia and about to go out and get the fresh stuff I need to make it tomorrow night. Hoping its going to be as good as it sounds.  ;)

Steve

Best of luck, not a bad one atall to get you started. My only advice is don't make it for the 4 or so people in the recipe, make it for one, the way that BIRs do. This way it will turn out far better.

All fresh stuff bought, spices delivered by Mr Postie, thank you Spices Of India.

I will make the base tonight and do the meat part tomorrow.

I will take some pics as I go if i'm not in too much of a mess.  ;D

My only advice is don't make it for the 4 or so people in the recipe, make it for one.

Thanks for the advice, I had already halved all the ingredients needed as it is my first attempt at anything like this.

Roll on tonight. ;D

Well better late than never.

Here are the pictures of my attempt at DarthPhall's Madras base sauce.

As a newbie, I like to get all the stuff prepared before.

Mixing all the spices up.

In the pot, ready for cooking.

An hour or so later.

Blended.

I'm afraid I didn't take any pics when I made the curry's up, but they did all taste spot on. Now I will have to try a few other recipe's on here.  ;D
