Hello pdtnc (pretty damn tasty northern curries?)

I was recently thinking about growing a few chillies. Are there any that are easier to grow than others? My only effort in the past grew great chillis on the window sill but they then got infested with whitefly.

Hiya..
Cheers for the welcomes :)

This is our current grow list, all have sprouted in the propagator and we've just potted up six varieties which will sit under the grow-light for a few weeks. :)

And its Keighley area :)

Hello pdtnc (pretty damn tasty northern curries?)

pdtnc = http://pdtnc.wordpress.com/ ;) Though your version sounds pretty good.
Cayenne is a good starter chilli, very useful in cooking, great to pickle, dries well so you can grind up your own powder.
Santa Fe Grande is nice and easy, lovely gratered with Cheese on toast.
Rocoto's have a kick and are juicy, pickle well, makes quite a big pod, stands a bit of colder climate better.

Kill all bugs as soon as you notice them, get something that sound like it would be bad for you if you drank it, none of that organic stuff that just annoys the bugs for a bit!  :o

Hope that helps :)

No Dorset Naga's yet then?

If I get whitefly or other bugs on my young chilli plants, I spray then with a solution of 2 to 3 habenero chillies blended with a little water (strained). It burns the crap out of em and doesn't harm the plant's sensitive leaves.

Regards

No Nagas, not yet, maybe next year...

Seems a waste of Habs on flies, does that really work?
How about Spider Mites?
