Hottest Chilli Sauces in the world
« on: December 26, 2007, 05:41 PM »
For the VERY brave:

http://www.chez-williams.com/Hot%20Sauce/hothome.htm

Get them here:
http://www.chilliworld.com/index.asp
http://www.chilefarm.co.uk/index.html

Some interestingly named sauces:
http://www.hotsauceworld.com/hottest-hot-sauce.html

Some chaps at my work had got hold of some of their:
Mad Dog 357
Nuckin' Futs
White Shark
Widow Hot Sauce

I tried all 4 (dap on the tounge) and liked the Mad Dog 357 best as it had a pleasant woody taste about it.

These are the hottest chilli sauces on the planet and.... MY GOD IN HEAVEN, I almost phoned for a tongue & tail transplant after tring those four sauces. I could bot sbeak probbabbly fur abourt an hour adverwards!  ;D

To gain some idea of the heat of these sauces (cookery additives really), 'normal' tobasco sauce is rated with a scoville 'heat' rating of about 1,500, whereas the Mad Dog 357 above has a scoville 'heat' rating of 357,000!!!!

Andy

PS, happy xmas & new year peeps

If you think that's hot try growing your own Naga Morich (Dorset Naga) chillies. These seeds are available on e-bay (chilli seeds). I grew some last year and they're the hottest of the hot.

A recent sample of the Naga Morich chilli was tested and registered 1,598,227 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), that's 3 times hotter than the previous World Record Holder - the Red Savina Habanero or 300 times hotter than a Jalapeno pepper!

There is a sauce made from this chilli which is available from the following website

I would not buy seeds from Ebay, you can never guarantee if they are the real thing.
The bonafide company that developed the Dorset Naga is here: http://www.peppersbypost.biz/
If you are going to use these little beasties then severe protection measures are needed, I use disposable latex gloves and eye protection.
These chillis take no prisoners..you have been warned  ;D

They have a stall at the West Dean chili festival.  I bought some last year and they are very hot although not quite as mind blowing as I thought they would be.  They give you a warning before you buy to make sure that you really want them  :D

Those sauces were just some 'sensible' examples that we 'and the lads' had tried at work. The Mad Dog was more than enough for me and went past the silly stage of heat.

Take a look, the hottest one they do, limited edition of 999 (with a cost to match) AND a document you have to sign stating you know what this stuff is & how to use it  has a maximum Scoville rating of 16,000,000. Yep, 16 MILLION.

Sorry Jethro, but I disagree with you. I have bought many chilli seeds off e-bay from different suppliers which have all turned out to be exactly what the seller advertised them to be.

In fact, early last year (2006) the ONLY place I could get Dorset Naga seeds was off E-bay.

As with all purchases on e-bay, there are crooks, but there are also a lot of very honest people. Only buy seeds from those with an exemplary feedback score and I'm sure you'll get the genuine chilli plant seeds ..... and anyway we're only talking of a couple of quid - so it's not really a great risk is it??? ::)
