BIR v USIR?

No contest in my view. BIR wins hands down on many fronts not least customer care.

I live in no mans land as regards food and other good stuff. Indian Restaurants sprout and then die. There is a reason for that too. If you have read other comments I have made regarding the Indian import here you will know that all is not that it seems?

Last night I opened and reheated a meal that I hoped would quench my thirst for spices, sauce and much more only to be disappointed once again.

Meat was old rope, sauce like water but that taste was still there, (Another lesson).

I called of course to explain my grief and I will not mention the restaurant name but it really doesn't matter here frankly. At that time I was told to bring it back straight away for a refund or new food. GREAT STUFF I thought. I did say to the manager that this was not about that but about continuity. Being sure what you ordered was what you in fact get.

I did not go back but I thought on Sunday I will! On calling and despite being on first name terms. Come on bloke how many English people have you really got here! I was told to come in at 8:00 pm to see the manager.  ::) Yeah right, some 14 miles to talk to someone?

Had I done so anyone in the restaurant would have seen me bring in my carton of swamp food. I didn't want to do that. Your relationship with your cook is of paramount importance. Apparently this does not follow the other way around however.

I've learned a great deal from this forum and can happily say that my version of what ever I cooked was on a par with what I get here. That is no mean statement. I am a good cook though I am not a cook. I look, smell, taste everything I do before it reaches the plate.

I've said this before. Indian Restaurants will have a bad time here in the woods. That said they are good at what they do but nothing is truly secret. Follow your nose and you will find what you are looking for. This is exactly what I am doing now because I do not get the service I deserve or the customer care I need where I live.

RESULT! 2007 Indian Restaurant Championship!

BIR 8 USIR 2

I know you know this really but it means United States Indian Restaurants. A perfectly good abbreviation if you ask me.
