« on: September 05, 2007, 11:26 AM »
Started my 1st curry base today and have gone with Darth's recipe. If all works out OK i will then be doing Darth's madras.I will take some pics and post them up later on. Thanks to Darthphall for the recipe.

You can't go wrong with that choice, the base is good and the Madras is still one of my favourites.

Ok the curry is done, i could have put less chicken stock in as the sauce is a little bit runny. Heat wise i would say its between a medium and a madras, funny thing is it makes me sweat like a madras  ??? Taste wise its excellent, overall i am well pleased with the final out come but there is room for improvement. pictures to come cant work out how to change bmp to gif any ideas anyone?

If you have windows XP go to start/programs/accessories/paint

drag your bmp onto the paint window

do file/save as, and there's a drop own box at the bottom that lets you select the file type (gif in your case)

You don't really want to post any piccies as a gif you will loose a lot of quality due to its colour limitations. Convert it to a jpg (small file size and better colour range).
I use Paintshop Pro for this sort of thing but I am sure there must be some free stuff on the web that will do it.
Try this one:

( the download works, I just tried it, but I did not try installing it)

Look forward to seeing those photos,

Jethro

Looks like you need some software to resize your piccies  :P.
Try this one:

http://freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/default.asp

Its free and will do all the basic stuff like resizing cropping etc.
Using the export function you can also change the format i.e. bitmap to jpg
I just down loaded it and tested it and its fine.

Hope this helps

Jethro
