Which curry powder do I use in a "spice mix" and when do I add fresh chillies?

1/ In the ingredients for the chefs spice mix it states to use curry powder. Is this down to choice our should i use a certain type ?
2/ I am going to make Admins new base sauce and then his Madras curry from the same post, but would like to no if i can add fresh chilli to this recipe if so when is the best time to add them.

Hi,
The curry powder doesn't really matter IMO, I use Rajah myself. As for fresh chili I usualy dice it fine and add it at the begining of the curry cooking process just before adding galrlic and ginger puree. I wouldn't add fresh chili to the base as this will then restrict you to only hot currys.
