Nigella lawson all purpose cooking pot.

I have just ordered the Nigella Lawson all purpose cooking pot
http://www.blisshome.co.uk/product.asp?product=52#
and was just wondering whether the top secrtion, inspired by a couscoussier, would be suitable for steaming rice during the cooking of a curry.
Has anyone here used this pan or a similar type of pan for steaming rice?
Do you think it would be suitable?

It should work in theory but keeping an eye on the curry below involves taking off the top bit and therefore stopping the steaming of the rice.
Personally I would do it seperately.
